ALASKA MENTAL HEALTH TRUST AUTHORITY
Proposed Land Exchange

The Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority (The Trust) is proposing a land exchange in Southeast Alaska between The Trust and the U.S. Forest Service (USFS). The proposed exchange involves land surrounding seven Southeast Alaska communities and offers a solution regarding use of these lands that is favorable to the communities, the State of Alaska, the federal government and The Trust.

To view an overview of the proposed land exchange click on the following links:  Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority Proposed Land Exchange Executive Summary or for a slide presentation: Proposed Land Exchange Slide Presentation.

After reading the Executive Summary I want to see more details of the proposal.  What do I do?

Go to Download page  and open the pdf proposal as submitted to the USFS on October 27, 2009 in Acrobat Reader.  Alternatively you can go to the Google Earth directory and open the Land Exchange Proposal.kmz in Google Earth.  This file will be loaded to your 'Temporary Places" in Google Earth.  You will find four data layers in this file when you expand the Google Earth directory tree for the newly loaded file and you can selectively turn the layers on and off.
