• The Trust Land Office (TLO) is pleased to offer the Icy Cape Block of Trust Land for lease of the placer mineral right. The lease offering is for all of approximately 23,000 acres. To view documents needed for submittal of lease application click Icy Cape Block Lease Prospectus. Applications are due by 4:00 pm, June 1, 2013. If applications are received from more than one qualified applicant, they will be notified by the TLO so that the applicants can supply bonus bids to secure a winning offer. The prospectus contains a description of the leasing process and the method for selecting the succesful applicant. Correction: Applications are due by 4:00 pm, June 3, 2013.

The Trust Land Office manages Mental Health Trust land to generate income, which is used by the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority to improve the lives and circumstance of Trust beneficiaries. The 1994 settlement reconstituted the Alaska Mental Health Trust, and the related legislation transferred nearly one million acres of land to the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority. It also required the creation of a separate unit within the State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources, the Trust Land Office. This office was established to manage the lands under contract to the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority.  To learn more, click here.
